On the 25th May 2014, the Lost Loiners took part in the 3rd annual Nathan Cubitt tag rugby event. Taking part in the men's event for the first time, and with the weather against them, The Loiners helped to raise money for the Nathan Cubitt trust and the Matt Hampson foundation. Both charities assist Rugby players who have suffered serious injuries that have led to permanent disability. Run by Try Tag Rugby, the 2014 event raised the most funds for these two fantastic charities than the previous two years.
With an early start to the day at Keighley RU, the men's tournament had 14 teams entered. The Loiners some how made it through to the final despite losing players rather than games, and even had to borrow a player for the final few games just to field a team. that final proved to be just a game too far, as Bradford & Bingley Bees RUFC came out on top 6-2 in the final.
A fun day was had by all players that took place, lead to talk of the Loiners taking a team down the Try Tag Rugby organised tournament in London in August. depending on timings the Loiners would be looking to go one better in next years tournament.
